Resolutions Review 7
I can’t decide if July was productive or not.
Let’s see what I managed:
2012 RESOLUTIONS:
- Always finish homework at least 1 day before it’s due.
The only homework I had was for Driver’s Ed. Finished all that in a timely manner, and now the online classes are over!
- Exercise for at least 20 minutes every day.
I was doing great at this until I fell off my bike, which scraped up my knee, skinned both elbows, and rubbed the skin off my palms. Between that and a brief family vacation, I haven’t done my routine in a week or so, but I’ll get back to it soon now that the skin on my hands is healing.
- Read at least 2 books every month.
The closest thing to a book I read this month was the Driver’s Ed manual.
- Finish at least 2 video games every month.
I beat the Plants vs. Zombies campaign, but nothing else, and boy did I buy a lot of games in the Steam Summer Sale.
- Write a review for every book and video game finished.
Crap, I didn’t finish my review of Plants vs. Zombies! Better get on that soon.
- Never have more than 25 unread emails.
Current unread email count: 6. Lots of progress on that front lately.
2012 GOALS:
- Become an Eagle Scout before September.
I have been REALLY busy trying to get this done. My Eagle Project has been approved and will be executed soon.
- Learn to drive.
Well I’m done with the online course now, but I haven’t spent any time behind the wheel yet. Hopefully I can make time in August to take the written test and get some practice.
- Get a job.
Let’s face it, this isn’t happening this summer. It might happen in the fall, though, since I’m going to Metro State and they have an emphasis on internships.
- Learn to use a programming language for websites.
Didn’t I change this goal somehow? Oh yeah, I mentioned I was learning French in the last update. I’m woefully behind on practice for that, but it’s still something I want to do.
So, I’ve made some real progress on a couple of major goals, but my track record for resolutions is getting worse. I could shrug and decide that’s the trade-off for a busy month, but no, I’m not really happy with it. I could have done a lot more. August will be hectic, between finishing my Eagle Project and starting school again, but I’m going to try harder to keep up with my own goals.
